History
The Stansberry Daycare Center opened its doors on June 10, 2001.
In Spanish it is known as the "Guardaria Moises." It is
dedicated to Moises Stansberry, an adopted child of the Stansberrys
who was raised from infacy to adulthood at the Stansberry
Children's Home. Moises passed away in a plane crash in 1997
at the age of 27 years.
Vision
The daycare was born of a desire to reach out to more children
with struggling parents. Many single mothers or fathers wanted to
place their children in an orphanage because they were not able
to work and look after their children. They had no one to turn to.
The daycare today provides a way for these families to stay together
and the children receive nourishing food. This includes breakfast,
lunch and two snacks. The children also receive an education and
most importantly learn of the love Jesus Christ has for each one.
Services are provided for the parents as well. Parent workshops
and meetings give the parents instruction on such things as health,
parenting skills, and finances, enabling them to better their way
of life.
The daycare center currently has a capacity for 45 children in
the first phase with the vision of gradually increasing to up to
100 children.
Support
Parents do pay a nominal fee for the daycare service, this does
not cover all the expenses. The Daycare Center works together with
an international program called PAN. They supply the dry goods as
well as cover a portion of the salary for the educators. Other finances
are provided by individuals and church organization around the world.
